Education Environment
li
Australia's education system is divided into five sectors.

They are:

• The universities

• A vocational training system through its Technical and Further Education (TAFE) colleges

• The ELICOS institutions which offer English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students

• A number of private colleges and schools giving courses in subjects such as business studies, hotel management, aviation, etc.

• Primary and secondary schools.

Academic Year

The Australian academic year runs from February to November. Most universities operate on a two-semester program. The first semester runs from late February to early June and the second from late July to early November.

Individual ELICOS, TAFE, and private colleges have different ways of structuring the academic year. If you are interested in enrolling in one of these institutions the academic registrar or the secretary will provide you with a schedule of their academic year. READ MORE>>>
